USC Marshall School of Business
BA Room 206
I am writing to express my interest in obtaining a Masters of Science in Marketing from USC’s Marshall School of Business. While I haven't always known what I wanted to do, I am confident I have found my place and a path forward. But in order to know where I hope to go, let me first tell you about what’s gotten me here.
During Covid-19 I was lucky enough to be afforded an opportunity to start an internship at a mid sized but heavily influential cybersecurity company. I began work at Tx Systems during the summer of 2020 and have been able to work my way up in the company. Originally I was brought on to help the company meet the surge in demand Covid had created for their products. When stay at home orders were placed to affect, all members of the Department of Defence and all armed forces agents needed to access servers remotely. As luck would have it, Tx Systems’ specialty just so happens to be offering solutions for Identity Verification and Remote Logon.
I began in packaging and shipping in our warehouse to now being in charge of public relations and all major marketing initiatives. Over the past four years I have been able to get invaluable real world experience and have learned so much from it. Working at a mid sized company afforded me the opportunity to gain insight into every role it takes to make a company operate successfully. I have gained numerous skills during my time there, including but not limited to: website development and design, sales, marketing, accounting and general bookkeeping, data analysis and the proper presentation of data to inform business decisions, and general office management.
At USC, I hope to further develop the skills I have already begun to utilize in scholarly and professional environments. I believe I have a lot to contribute to the Trojan Community and if given the opportunity I can't wait to rise to the challenge.
Thank You,
Kate Bennett
